Goal:   To protect the rights of the children in conflict and contact with law. 

Objectives

n      To enhance the enforcement of the JJSO (Juvenile Justice System Ordinance).

n      To provide protective services to the children in contact and conflict with law directly or through referrals and guidance.

n      To serve as a resource center for information collection and dissemination and capacity building.

Establishment

n      Police Child Protection Center (PCPC) was established at Jinnah Town Quetta in 2010 with the collaboration of SEHER NGO’s. The same NGO further provided FIR Registers/ FIR Forms for compilation of data for the crimes & violence against children which were distributed to all Police Stations in Balochistan.  

n      Police Department deployed sufficient men power and logistics.

Functions of the PCPC

n      Provision of shelter and other facilities to missing children till their parents are found.  

 n      Coordination and data  compilation.

n      Issuance of notification for the facilitation of children in conflict and contact with law.

n      Advocacy at higher levels.

n      Training and capacity building of the staff.

n      Publications (leaflets, booklets, progress reports etc)

 Way Forward

n      Strengthening the capacity of the Police staff on child protection issues.

n      Strengthening the service provision directly and through referral partners.

n      Public awareness on the services provided by the CPU.

n      Strengthening the data collection and compilation mechanism.
