It was decided in a Cabinet Meeting
jointly chaired by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan
on 28th
August 2003 that a new force namely Balochistan Constabulary
with the strength of 6000+ personnel be raised and the existing
4,000 strength of BRP be merged in that force making it a strong
and effective striking force of 10,000. The Process of raising
the new force has to be completed in three years span.
A Committee comprising members from
Balochistan Government, Police, Finance and Army was established
to rationalize the requirement of manpower, transport and
equipment for the organization of Balochistan Constabulary.
Police Department then prepared PC-1 on fast-track basis, and an
amount of Rs. 4000 Million was committed by the Federal
Government to meet the expenses on Manpower, Logistic support
and for Civil Works in the Province. The PC-1 was prepared
accordingly and finally the Project was approved by the ECNEC on
25th
February 2005 at an estimated cost of Rs. 4138 Million.

Training:
On the direction of the PPO, two Recruit
Training Centers at Quetta and Kalat were established.
Procurement
95% Purchase of Uniform and Liveries, Arms and Ammunition, Machinery
and Equipment, Transport and Other Miscellaneous purchases are going
on. Aircraft has been purchased, which is now operational. 30
Armored Personnel Carriers have been purchased from Heavy Industries
Taxila. All procured items have been distributed as per PC-1.
Civil
Works
As per PC-1, an amount of Rs.1232 Million had been earmarked as
construction cost of the Project. Due to revision of CSR-1998, the
Civil Work was started in March, 2007. 70% buildings at B.C Complex
has been completed and handed over to the Commandant B.C. The
construction of Hanger for Aircraft at Khalid Airbase, is
continuing. The Work on following buildings out side
Quetta
is in progress and will be completed within six months Inshaallah:

Zonal Headquarter at Loralai.
2.
Wing Headquarter at Turbat, Hub and Rakhni.
