introduced by the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Interior, and
National Police Bureau Islamabad in Balochistan Police in 2003.
Whole funding for the layout of this Project has been met out by the
National Police Bureau.
-
The Director Crimes Branch is the focal person of PAFIS.
MAIN PURPOSE/ROLE
-
The Main Purpose
of PAFIS is to maintain data of Fingerprints i,e 10 Finger Print
Cards/latent Fingerprints lifted from the scene of crime and all the
suspects/criminals arrested by the Police and preserve in National
Police Bureau Islamabad. The 10 Print Cards prepared by the
Investigation Officers at various Police Districts and latent
Fingerprints lifted by the Police Officer from crime scene
immediately transferred to the Data Base Center National Police
Bureau Islamabad through this system for searching and matching.
LAY OUT OF THE SYSTEM
CENTRAL SITE
A Central Site as a Central data base for collection of the
Finger Prints data of all the arrested suspects/criminals on 10
Finger Print Cards and latent Fingerprints lifted from the scene of
crimes from all provinces were established in FIA HQRs Islamabad
supervised by the National Police Bureau Islamabad. The central data
base after searching and matching the latent fingerprints with the
10 Finger Print cards informs the concerned site regarding status of
the criminals.
PROVINCIAL (MULTI FUNCTIONING WORK
STATION)
Multi Functioning Work Station has been established in each
province. Provincial MFWS of Balochistan Police has been established
in the basement of the
Special
Branch
Building. The main function of PMFWS is
that the latent fingerprints lifted from the crime scene are
supplied to the Central site FIA HQRs Islamabad for searching and
matching with the finger prints data received from all over the
country. The Central Site after searching and matching the
fingerprints within 15 minutes to 24 hours will supply the
fingerprints of 10 criminals which are close matching with the
latent fingerprint to PMFWS through this system. On receipt of
suspected fingerprints of 10 criminals the expert of PMFWS will
determine that out of the fingerprints of 10 criminals which is
matching with the latent fingerprints pints in question.
